Patagonia @ Bend Gift List, #2

Holiday Gift List, Part Dos

We have gift ideas for every type of person in your life, from the burly man to the ski bunny on your list. Here are the best of the best.

Did you miss the first list? Just scroll down or click here for more gift ideas...
Better SweaterFor Mamacita

Is there anyone who should be spoiled more during the holidays than mom?

The Patagonia Better Sweater has grown in popularity over the years and is flying off of the shelves this season.
This jacket has the comfort, warmth and easy-care washability of fleece but the look of a classic sweater.

The Better Sweater comes with or without a hood in men's and women's styles.

One reviewer said, "This is hands-down the best fleece I have ever owned. The tighter weave keeps out more wind than previous fleeces, and the handwarmer pockets are super cozy. I love the slim-fit of the jacket. Its a really flattering cut that looks good over jeans, work slacks, or dresses."
Ski SocksFor their Stocking

The perfect stocking stuffer: Patagonia ski socks. Their long cuffs and ribbed design protect their legs from boot-bang and prevent annoying migration. The felted footbed is cushioned and insulated and the moisture-wicking performance lasts the lifetime of the sock.

Fjord FlannelFor the Manly Man

The Fjord Flannel shirt is a great choice for men this time of year. The heavyweight flannel, soft hand and sturdy design make this a staple for cold weather climates.
One reviewer said, "Nothing got me more excited for Fall than this shirt. A burly, heavy duty flannel that looks great and provides enough warmth to prevent the fall chill from digging in too soon, it has become a favorite in my wardrobe. And since it is made of footprint-reducing organic cotton, the environmentalist in you will have no objections."

(We have cute, cozy tailored flannel shirts for women this year too.)

Slingshot Down JacketFor the Bendite

Seriously, Bend is the perfect place for a down jacket. Cold, dry air is an ideal climate for down, whether you are trekking through the backcountry or putting the warmest possible layer over your shirt to head out on the town. Patagonia's Slingshot Down Jacket is 600-fill goose down and the Fitz Roy Down Jacket has 700-fill white down clusters. Both are water-repellent and streamlined. (Slingshot is a men's style. The Fitz Roy Down Jacket is available in men's and women's styles.)

Nano PuffFor the Well-Dressed Athlete

The Nano Puff line of outerwear has grown immensely in popularity this year. The Nano line is similar to the Patagonia down sweater but uses synthetic fill instead of down.

Windproof and water-resistant, the Nano Puff® Hoody jacket is warm, incredibly lightweight, highly compressible and can be worn as insulation or outerwear in cold climates. The jacket's lines are sleek and flattering so they can look good while they enjoy the outdoors.

We also have the Nano Puff Jacket (no hood), the Nano Puff Pullover and the Nano Storm (a Nano puff lines a waterproof shell) in stock in Men's and Women's styles.

Beatrice BeanieFor your Friend

We have a huge range of hats, beanies and gloves in stock. These gifts are easy as pie and are well-liked by friends in cold climates.
Down Sweater VestFor the Hard-to-Please

For a gift anyone will love, the Down Sweater Vest hits the spot. Warms their core, layers nicely and looks great on everyone. (Available in men's and women's styles.)

Capilene UnderwearFor your Sweetheart

Forget lacy lingerie for the holidays... stuff her stocking with what she'll really wear. Wicking, breathable underwear for all of her sports.

Powder Bowl JacketFor the Ski Bunny

Our popular Powder Bowl Ski Jacket offers exceptional performance in snowstorms or sunshine with water repellent and a waterproof/breathable barrier.
This Powder Bowl has everything you could want in a ski jacket: the body wicks moisture; slick mesh lining in the sleeves glides over layers; pit zips control heat; the removable hood adjusts two ways; a wraparound gripper elastic keeps the powder skirt secure; and articulated arms let you move freely.

The Powder Bowl Jacket is available in insulated and non-insulated versions. (Available in men's and women's styles.)

Baby BuntingFor the Little Pup

Little babies need warm, cozy Patagonias too. The Patagonia fleece bunting can zip together like a sleep sack or into legs for the car seat.
Downtown Loft ParkaFor the Girl with Cold Hands and a Warm Heart

Does she really, genuinely hate being cold? This is her jacket. This is as close as she can get to wearing a sleeping bag all day and yet it is streamlined and tailored to look adorable on. The Downtown Loft Parka has snaps in addition to the zipper so she can swing it on while she's rushing out the door.

This is our top gift pick this season for those who aren't as crazy about the very cold La Nina days ahead.

Holiday Gift List, Part One

We have gift ideas for every type of person in your life, from dear old dad to the fashionista on your list.

Pima CottonFor the Father Figure

The Pima cotton shirt is the perfect gift for dads. These shirts are dressy enough for any restaurant or business meeting in town, yet casual enough for raking leaves on the weekend. Using 100% organic cotton, the Pima cotton shirt's classic fit, colors and very soft hand have made it a staple for Patagonia.

Capilene Long UnderwearFor the Weekend Warrior

In winter, Patagonia's capilene long underwear is an essential first layer for all weekend adventures.
Patagonia set the standard for long underwear 25 years ago and they have continuously improved upon a great thing. It has been redesigned in 2010 to be loftier, lighter, to fit better and (here's a bonus for wives and girlfriends everywhere) to smell better after a sweaty workout. Patagonia's capilene comes in four weights and multiple styles for men and women. We have more of the good stuff than anyone in Bend. Try us.

Down With It VestFor the Betty

The total betty needs a gift as cute as she is. Our pick: the Down With It plaid vest. Whether she wears it after a ski day at the mountain or over a skirt for a fun day with friends, this vest will warm her right up!

Down SweaterFor your most Finicky Friend
We all have someone on our list who returns every gift that they receive. This year, give them a Patagonia Down Sweater. This is the most popular item in our store and is returned the least. Why? Easy. Patagonia just nailed the design and construction on this jacket so that it is warm, sleek, comfortable and flattering. Just try one on at the store and you'll know what we're talking about.

We currently have a full range of new colors and sizes in stock. Every year, these jackets sell out early so call or stop by soon if you want the best selection.

Traverse JacketFor the Ultra Athlete

We live in Bend so we all know at least one. Just as we're settling into the couch, they're headed out for another trek/run/ski... again. The ultra athlete needs a jacket that lives up to their energizer-bunny ways.

The Traverse Jacket is the perfect piece for biking up Phil's trail, hitting the cross country ski trails at Virginia Meissner and going for a winter run out at the Badlands... all in one day. The dependable Traverse Jacket is Patagonia's lightest, most breathable soft shell, with wind resistance, 4-way stretch for unrestricted movement and a Deluge® DWR (durable water repellent) finish to resist wet weather. Comes in Men's and Women's styles.

Patagonia MiniMass BagFor the Workaholic

Always on the go, the workaholic needs a great bag to carry their stuff. Patagonia's popular Half Mass bag now comes in a mini-version for greater portability without sacrificing convenience.

The MiniMass offers padded compartments, organizational sleeves and a zip pocket in front for quick-grab essentials. The clean, adjustable shoulder strap and reflective strip make this the perfect bag for bicycle commuting.

Fiona JacketFor the Fashionista

She can wear it with style over jeans or a cocktail dress. The Fiona Parka is the perfect gift for those who want warmth without sacrificing a good look.

An exceedingly feminine, urban, ultralight, long down coat, the Fiona Parka stands up to ruthless winter conditions with the same hardiness as Patagonia's most technical alpine garments.

Patagonia ScarfFor the Teach'
Your child's teacher has caught 7 colds this fall, has intercepted 27 notes passed in the back of the classroom and still smiles every morning when the rugrats pile in. Warm up her (or his) early morning trips to school with a Patagonia scarf.

Men's Organic Cotton JeansFor the Hottie

Patagonia's organic cotton jeans are great for the nightlife or for casual days around town. As one of the women at the shop says, "Only hot guys wear these jeans." You've been told.

Tribble JacketFor your Mini-Me

Don't forget the pint-sized people in your life! Keep your favorite kids warm this season with cozy, cute mini-Patagonias. Our favorite this season is the Tribble Jacket.

The Tribble Jacket is reversible with a durable water-resistant shell on one side and furry high-pile fleece on the other, plus a soft layer of 100-g Thermogreen® polyester between the two layers for warm, low-bulk insulation.
This is the jacket to keep your little guy warm and adorable during La Nina.

Capilene BoxersFor the Tough Guy

The truth about men? They have underpants envy. Why do women always get the good stuff? Not here. Patagonia's silky Capilene boxers will make him want to wear his underpants and nothing else... we're not sure if that's a good thing, but we know he'll like this gift.
For Primo Down Jacketyour True Love

Want to show her that you really love her? The Primo Down Jacket is Patagonia's top-of-the-line ski jacket. If she gets cold on the hill, this jacket will keep her warm without the bulk of several layers.

The Primo Down Jacket has a built in 700-fill down lining, a 3-layer waterproof shell, 2 way stretch and a streamlined look and feel.
One reviewer said, "I am a National Ski Patroller located in Western NY and wanted a jacket that I could use for general skiing, hiking and pleasure that would keep me warm and dry in the coldest, nastiest conditions without the bulk (and still look "trendy"). I've found that this jacket is SUPERB for temperatures at or below 35 degrees....I've had this jacket in minus 25 degrees in the Adirondack Mountains with 30 MPH winds, and was comfortable without ANY additional layers other than midweight thermals. The wind & warmth protection is UNSURPASSED. The ZIP pits also provides needed flexibility in changing conditions. You can't find a better NASTY weather jacket....period! Worth EVERY nickel...this coat will last me & you a lifetime! Tired of being cold & wet, BUY this coat!"

(Available in men's and women's styles.)

We've had a few questions about our name change so we thought we'd give you the straight scoop in case you would like to read about the history of our store.

Patagonia @ Bend was opened as Pandora's Backpack in May, 2003 by Rod and Katie Bien. At the time, the store was a mountain sports store that carried a variety of brands. We were always most excited about Patagonia's product though, so in the Fall of 2005, we became a "Patagonia concept shop." There are only a few Patagonia concept shops in the country. A "concept shop" means that we are still privately owned and run, but we carry exclusively Patagonia product and try to showcase the Patagonia line.

We changed names this year to Patagonia @ Bend in order to reflect our status as a concept shop more accurately and to have a name that is similar to the other Patagonia concept shops around the country. We are still owned by Rod and Katie Bien; we just changed our name.

We feel lucky for our relationship with Patagonia and are committed to the brand. Patagonia, as a company, embodies philosophies that we believe in: environmental consciousness, customer satisfaction, a lifetime warranty and making very high quality products that protect you so that you can feel comfortable enjoying outdoor activities.

We are still and have always been locally owned and operated.

We thank you for your support.
