Keeping Warm as the Seasons Change

Painted Hills, Oregon. Photo Courtesy by Mary Moynihan.

Clearly it's been a while since any of us over at Patagonia@Bend has posted. That doesn't mean we forgot about you, and we hope you didn't forget us either. That said, let's jump back in, shall we?
A few weeks back I headed out east to Oregon’s Painted Hills. For those who haven’t been, it’s a unique landscape, one of spectacular color and geological interest. It was a cold afternoon when I arrived, with temperatures in the lower twenties. Later at camp, when the last trace of sunlight faded, it dropped even lower. As someone who runs on the colder side, this trip wouldn’t have been very enjoyable if I hadn’t been accompanied by Patagonia’s Fitz Roy. With a generous dose of 800-fill down insulation, the windproof jacket sealed the warmth in and the cold out.

Now although the Fitz Roy is no longer available (and won’t be available again until next year), don’t be discouraged. We still have plenty more jackets for the quickly approaching spring season. Our down jackets include the Down Sweater and Ultralight Down Jacket. Each of these exceptional jackets also comes hooded—and as a vest for that matter—to suit your personal needs. Both styles are made with high quality 800-fill down in addition to being windproof and water-resistant as the exterior liner is treated with a durable water repellency, or DWR. The two styles can be used year-round, either as an outer layer on cold summer nights or as an insulating layer beneath a shell while skiing on Mt. Bachelor.
Both of these jackets are a great addition to the outdoorsman—and outdoorswoman—during any season. We invite you to stop in to try one on.

Hope to see ya soon,
Mary from Patagonia@Bend
